The brilliant acoustics of the nearly complete Elisabeth Murdoch Hall were given an impromptu test recently and passed with flying colours.
The centrepiece of the new Melbourne Recital Centre, the purpose-built world-class recital hall hosted a small gathering to hear the Victorian Opera Chorus belt out Handel's Hallelujah chorus (from Messiah).
The gathering heard from Major Projects Minister Theo Theophanous and Arts Minister Lynne Kosky, who were both excited by the performance and looking forward to the official opening of the hall in early 2009.
